When I opened up my eyes, the sun had already risen
I guess you could say I had only two decisions,
I could sleep all day or I could listen
to the sounds of my heart that said you shouldn't feel so bad;
Sunday mornings can be such a drag.

So now i'm walking down the street-
concentrating on the sound that my feet
makes when it connects with the concrete
and I had this feeling I was supposed to meet
someone who I would love to see.
but I couldn't find her anywhere; I just kept walking,
searching for something that felt like destiny.

I find myself waiting in line,
I guess you could say this happens everytime
that I need a little sunshine and coffee.
I think I felt it this time when you smiled at me.
"does this mean your order's complete, sir?"
and I'm so smooth I reply "uh yeah, sure"
and from that moment on, my hands started to shake;
but I gathered up the courage to ask, "when's your next break?"
"I'd be willing to wait here for the rest of the day,"
"if that only meant that I could take you out on a date,"
she said "I get off in a couple of hours..."
"...don't be late."
